For too long the LP has been an inner circle protected from its members. Our party is more than those that can attend meetings, dig through google drives, learn and understand Robert's rules and stay up to date on all things within the LNC. It will be a priority of mine to ensure nothing happens behind closed doors. If the LNC is doing it, it will be easy to find, understand, and provide input. That means providing video summaries, discussions, social media dissemination, and email summaries on a regular basis.
Attend any Libertarian Party event and be prepared to hear about the same political philosophy talking points you've heard for decades.
Rather than being the smartest in the room I will shift our focus to being the most effective, and I'm not talking about the thousands of dollars we've spent on consultants from political science departments that just tell us: " be less libertarian".
Instead I intend to bring in speakers, consultants, and trainers from outside libertarianism and outside of politics entirely. We will partner with industry experts, marketing, branding, sales and persuasion experts, motivation experts, organizational experts, and anyone else that can help us become more effective and successful. If we grow and develop our members, we grow and develop the party.
People have passions. Where principled alignment exists, we should provide a political home for groups to advance those passions. Crypto, Nuclear Technology, InfoSec, Startup Entrepreneurs, Anti-War activists to name a few, are groups with passionate members that find themselves politically homeless. We should change that and allow them to have a home in the LP. Their expertise will help us develop solutions to fight the state and their involvement in the party will expand their horizons into liberty politics.
Why is the party seemingly treading water? Well, until there is a focus on how our actions impact our Key Performance Indicators and what our Return on Investment looks like, we will continue to tread water. I've used data like this to set goals and change direction of large sales organizations in the past, I will do the same for our party.
We spend over $30,000 to send out a newspaper via government mail to members, in 2021. Why? Does it increase donations and revenue? How is membership retention effected? No one can seem to answer this question. I intend to change that.
Become a Delegate and attend the 2022 Libertarian National Convention in Reno, NV.
